This is the best book I've read in a long time.A voracious reader, I read just about anything I can get my hands on, which can be very scary when we're talking ebooks. Many of the self published books are just garbage- somewhat interesting stories with two dimensional characters and horrendous grammar- easily forgotten within moments of finishing them and deleted from my library even quicker. This is not one of those books. "What Happened" is going to be making my thoughts for a long time.
The main character's voice grabs you from the very first page, and by the end of the first chapter, Ginny's story has you hook, line, and sinker. These characters feel like they've been plucked off the street and thrown into print. They could be your neighbor, your waitress, your friend. The author put you into the heads of all her characters, giving you an understanding of each their motivations. Through her pen, even the monstrous ones are made human. Juggling so many different points of view is a very difficult thing, but the author has done it masterfully without the book feeling disjointed at all. And this is the author's first book! Amazing talent :) I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Like another reviewer stated, this is going to be one of those books you cannot put down. It is short enough to read in one sitting, but that doesn't make it a light read, by any means. It does deal with heavy subject matter.
Hopefully this book opens a dialogue, at the very least within ourselves. Hopefully it will do more than that. Hopefully it will open eyes to someone that is suffering, someone who needs help. Especially since the first part of helping is something as simple as paying attention, to notice, to stretch out a hand. Nobody is alone. They could be your classmate, your coworker, your family member, your neighbor, your waitress, your friend. Eliminate those "should haves." Who knows when one more could prove too much to bear?

I could not put this book down! I will recommend to anyone looking for a good read. Is there going to be a sequel?
This is the kind of book I love to read you get into the story line and you can just not put it down. So a word of caution do not start reading unless you are willing to read for hours or until the battery is dead on your . Great job Erica Moulton what a Super first book
I am a fan of the Hunger Games and Twilight Series, two of the biggest selling book series in recent years. With that being said, I can tell you this tops the list of my favorite books. From the very beginning of Ginny's story you are taken in and cannot put the book down. Along the way you are filled with raw emotion and hit with several twists and turns. Although written as fiction, it is filled with real life confrontation. I can see this book changing the lives of people who may deal with the same or similar issues that Ginny dealt with. I finished reading it a few days ago and I cannot stop thinking about the life of Virginia June, the "what ifs" and the nagging thought that there are so many souls out there just like her who need someone. I cannot wait to read more from this new, amazing author.
I LOVED this book. I have to be honest and say that I rarely read. This book had me so involved that I read the entire book in one day. Excellent writing, I can't wait to read more from the author!!!
This was an amazing story. The way that each character had a different perspective gave a tremendous amount of insight to the reader. I couldn't put it down! I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for that "different" novel to read. But beware, it definitely leaves you wanting more!
I do not like to read many books, but I was told that it was a very interesting one. Needless to say, this was probably one of the best books I have read to date.
Still processing my thoughts, and the understanding that each person has a different perspective on what took place. The classic saying you can't judge a book by its cover goes double for people. This is a must read, if you or anyone you know has ever experienced mental, physical, sexual abuse, drug or alcohol addiction, cutting, depression, true love, Cancer, even death of a loved one, dysfunctional families. Even days after finishing the book, I am still thinking about my What Happened? What made me different than Virginia June? The feeling of being alone & misunderstood, I can easily see how quick things can spiral out of control. Anticipating more from this talented author, who leaves you wanting more. Now, anxiously waiting for the paperback edition to be released.
